# 7 African startups selected for Y Combinator accelerator S22 batch

Seven African startups have been selected to participate in the Silicon Valley[ Y Combinator](https://www.ycombinator.com/) accelerator programme among a total of 219 startups already confirmed from different regions. 

- The confirmed African startups are Nigeria's fintech startup [Pivo,](https://pivo.africa/#/) [Chowdeck,](https://chowdeck.com/) a Nigerian food delivery platform, Kenyan payments platform, [Patika,](https://patika.africa/) and Ghanaian auto parts distribution service, [Garage Mobility.](https://www.garagemobility.com/) Others are Nigerian startups, including [Anchor,](https://www.techloy.com/nigerian-banking-as-a-service-platform-anchor-bags-1-million-in-pre-seed/) a banking-as-a-service (BaaS) platform, [Bridgecard,](https://bridgecard.co/) a card-issuing fintech startup, and [FoodCourt,](https://www.getfoodcourt.com/) a food delivery service startup.
- Each startup will receive up to $500,000 as part of the accelerator deal, alongside a three-month of shaping and refining of participants' pitches to be investment-worthy.
- 24 African startups participated in the W22 batch, Y Combinator's previous edition.
- African startups such as Flutterwave, Paystack, Kobo360, Cowrywise, MarketForce, Kudi, WorkPay, and CredPal among others have participated in the renowned accelerator programme.
