Bitcoin reaches a new all-time record high

Bitcoin reached a new record price of almost $73,000 as of Monday, having last week overtaken its previous record of nearly $69,000 in November 2021.

As of Tuesday March 12 (9:22AM GMT), it stood at $71,924.80, reflecting the sustained interest and optimism in bitcoin, as the world's most valuable cryptocurrency has recently been boosted by a flood of cash into new spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds.

Bitcoin has now risen by more than $30,000 since the start of the year, with the record-breaking rally largely driven by huge inflows from institutional investors.
