# Colombian online supermarket Merqueo secures $22 million in funding

[Merqueo,](https://merqueo.com/) a Colombia-based digital supermarket has secured $22 million in its new funding round from IDB Invest, a subsidiary of the Inter-American Development Bank and Blue like an Orange, a private investment firm. 

- The funds will help the startup to expand into Brazil and improve its technological platform.
- IDB Investment of $4 million in the round will help the business to further support job creation and purchases from local suppliers in small and medium sizes enterprises (SMEs).
- Merqueo has bagged $88 million in funding since it launched in 2015\.
