This startup has secured €6.5 million to elevate Spanish writing skills with AI

Correcto, a Madrid-based startup founded in 2021 by Abraham López Lee, Ignacio Prieto Mayorgas, and Antonio Triguero Noriega, is on a mission to enhance Spanish writing and language skills for the global Spanish-speaking community, which numbers more than 591 million people.

The company has developed a SaaS platform that employs artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide real-time linguistic corrections and improvements in Spanish. Correcto's AI-powered writing assistant checks for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style errors, offering users not only corrections but also explanations and suggestions to enhance the quality, clarity, tone and sentiment of their text.

Correcto boasts over 120,000 downloads, a user base of 70,000 monthly active users, and an extensive dictionary comprising over a million words.

Now the Spanish language startup has secured an impressive €6.5 million in its second seed funding round, led by Octopus Ventures, Carya Venture Partners, and River Park Ventures, to propel the company to new heights, including further product development, international expansion, and team strengthening.

This follows an earlier $616K round in 2022 led by Fuel Ventures and Asymmetry Ventures. While the startup already has a strong presence in countries like Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, and the United States, its goal is to expand throughout Latin America.

With 82% of native Spanish speakers residing in Latin America, the region presents a compelling growth opportunity. Correcto aims to create a solution that caters to the diverse variations of Spanish spoken across different countries, making it a global leader in Spanish language writing improvement.
