I watched [PlayStation](https://www.techloy.com/tag/sony-playstation/)'s latest State of Play live yesterday, and it felt like a classic showcase: some things we all expected, some surprises, lots of release dates, and plenty of trailers designed to get everyone buzzing. But this time, it wasn’t just about the games—Sony also carved out space for hardware reveals, reminding everyone that the PS5 ecosystem is growing on both fronts.

With fall around the corner and a stacked holiday season already coming into view, this event was less about shocking reveals and more about giving players a clear roadmap of what’s next for [PS5](https://www.techloy.com/tag/ps5/). From brand-new exclusives to remastered classics, plus some notable hardware drops, here’s everything Sony rolled out during the show.

## **Game Reveals & Updates**

### **Saros gets a release date alongside gameplay reveal**

Housemarque, the studio behind *Returnal*, opened the showcase with *Saros*. This is the studio’s most ambitious game yet, described as an emotional story set on the shape-shifting planet of Carcosa.

The trailer showed Arjun Devraj using his Soltari Shield to block and absorb projectiles before firing them back with a Power Weapon. Exploration also plays a role, with Arjun investigating mysterious Holologs to uncover the planet’s history. The action is fast-paced, colourful, and full of chaotic energy, very much in line with *Returnal*.

The game launches on March 20, 2026, with PS5 Pro enhancements, and Housemarque has promised more reveals before release.

### **Battlefield 6 gets another look at campaign mode**

[EA](https://www.techloy.com/tag/ea-sports/) showed a short but action-heavy trailer for [*Battlefield 6*](https://www.techloy.com/tag/battlefield-6/)*’s* campaign mode. While the series is usually associated with massive multiplayer battles, the campaign looks cinematic and full of dramatic set pieces.

With a release set for 10 October 2025, this entry will arrive just weeks before *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7*. EA is clearly positioning the game to dominate the fall shooter space, and Sony giving it stage time shows the partnership is strong.

### **Deus Ex celebrates its 25th anniversary with a remaster**

Aspyr is remastering *Deus Ex*, the beloved 2000 cyberpunk RPG (Role-Playing Game) from Ion Storm and Warren Spector. The new version includes modern lighting, updated particle effects, ragdoll physics, and rebuilt character models with lip-synced dialogue.

Aspyr is calling it a “careful modernisation,” meaning it aims to keep the original’s spirit intact. It will launch on 5 February 2026\. For longtime fans, it is a chance to revisit a genre-defining immersive sim, while new players get to experience the game that inspired series like *Dishonored*.

### **Halloween gameplay reveal and release date**

John Carpenter’s *Halloween* is getting a video game adaptation in the popular 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer format. One player controls Michael Myers while the others play as survivors in Haddonfield.

A single-player mode is also planned. The first gameplay footage shows chases through suburban neighbourhoods and iconic Halloween imagery. It is scheduled to launch on 8 September 2026\. With *Friday the 13th* and *Texas Chainsaw Massacre* already trying similar formulas, it will be interesting to see if Myers can slash his way to lasting success.

### **Last Epoch expansion brings the game to PS5**

Originally a [PC](https://www.techloy.com/tag/pc-2/)\-only action RPG (Role-Playing Game), *Last Epoch* will make its PS5 debut alongside its new expansion *Oryboss*. Owned by Krafton since earlier this year after it acquired developer Eleventh Hour Games, the game promises deep skill customisation, tons of loot, and all previously released seasonal content.

While *Diablo 4* and the upcoming *Path of Exile 2* dominate the genre, Krafton is hoping the expansion and console release will help carve out a dedicated fanbase.

### **Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to the PS5**

After months of rumours, *Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024* is officially coming to PlayStation 5 on 8 December 2025\. This is one of the most technically impressive games of the last decade, offering a near-perfect 1:1 digital version of Earth with real-time weather and traffic systems.

The move is notable because the game has been a flagship [Xbox](https://www.techloy.com/tag/microsoft-xbox/) and PC experience since 2020\. [Sony](https://www.techloy.com/tag/sony/) fans will now get the same chance to hop into realistic cockpits and explore the world from above.

### **The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin brings anime action to PS5**

This free-to-play open-world RPG (Role-Playing Game) is based on the popular manga and anime. Players follow Tristan on an adventure through Britannia with real-time combat, puzzles, and exploration.

It offers both solo play and multiplayer co-op, leaning heavily into anime-inspired visuals. Launching on 28 January 2026, it will compete directly with titles like *Genshin Impact*, which has a massive following in the same space.

### **Dynasty Warriors 3 remastered in Unreal Engine 5**

The 2001 hack-and-slash classic *Dynasty Warriors 3* is being remastered as *Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered*. It has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 and includes the *Xtreme Legends* expansion. The updated visuals bring sharper environments and more detail to the huge battles that defined the series. It will launch on 19 March 2026.

### **Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds shows Mega Man DLC**

Sega is releasing *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* on 25 September 2025, and ahead of launch, it revealed a Mega Man crossover DLC (Downloadable Content). The pack includes Mega Man and Proto Man as racers, plus a new track inspired by Dr Wily’s castle. The DLC arrives in 2026, giving Sega a nostalgia hook to compete with *Mario Kart*’s ongoing dominance.

### **Nioh 3 gets its release date**

Team Ninja confirmed that *Nioh 3* will launch on 6 February 2026\. The new trailer showed protagonist Tokugawa Takechiyo clashing with his brother through time, once again mixing Japanese history with supernatural battles. The series has always stood out for combining Soulslike mechanics with unique samurai settings, and this third game looks set to continue that tradition.

### **CodeVein 2 release date locked in**

Bandai Namco’s anime Soulslike *CodeVein* is getting a sequel on 30 January 2026\. The game introduces Lou, a mysterious companion tied to time manipulation, as players fight to change fate. While the first game received mixed reviews, it developed a loyal following, and the sequel looks like it will lean even more heavily into its anime aesthetic.

### **Let It Die returns with Inferno**

Grasshopper Manufacture revealed *Let It Die: Inferno*, a sequel to its strange but stylish 2016 hack-and-slash. The new game combines melee combat, rogue-lite mechanics, and PvPvE systems where players raid hell and attempt to escape with their loot. It launches on 3 December 2025\. As with most Grasshopper projects, expect a mix of bizarre humour and brutal gameplay.

### **Zero Parades: For Dead Spies returns with a new trailer**

ZA/UM, best known for *Disco Elysium*, brought a new trailer for *Zero Parades: For Dead Spies*. This espionage RPG (Role-Playing Game) stars Hershel Wilk, a spy navigating strange alliances at what the studio calls “the end of history.”

The art style is instantly familiar to anyone who played *Disco Elysium*, mixing painterly visuals with gritty dialogue-driven gameplay. Given the turmoil at ZA/UM in recent years, many fans are curious whether the team can recapture the spark that made their debut such a cult classic. The game is slated for release in 2026.

### **Chronoscript: The Endless End announced**

This new side-scrolling Metroidvania has a unique premise. Set in 2026, it follows an editor trapped inside the pages of a manuscript after being bitten by a mosquito.

Gameplay switches between the 2D pages and the [3D](https://www.techloy.com/tag/3d/) mansion where the book is housed. Its hand-drawn art style stood out in the trailer, and it is expected sometime in 2026.

### **Crimson Desert is dated for March**

Pearl Abyss’s open-world RPG (Role-Playing Game) *Crimson Desert* finally has a date: 19 March 2026\. The game blends cinematic storytelling with large-scale action combat. Players take on mercenary missions in a sprawling fantasy world, with systems reminiscent of both *Assassin’s Creed* and *The Witcher*.

### **Wolverine finally revealed in full**

After years of anticipation, endless leaks, and fears, the project was scrapped, and the curtains finally closed on the show with a full, brutal reveal of *Wolverine*. The long wait was worth it, as the trailer focused on visceral, bloody combat that places Logan’s adamantium claws front and centre.

While Insomniac kept the actual gameplay light, they promised a much more in-depth look in spring 2026\. With a target release later next year, Sony is clearly positioning this game as a future tentpole alongside their successful *Spider-Man* franchise.

## **Hardware & Accessories**

### **Sony reveals Pulse Elevate wireless speakers**

Sony showed off a new hardware accessory line, the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. Designed for PS5, PC, and [Mac](https://www.techloy.com/tag/macos/), they promise ultra-low latency, clear gaming audio, and built-in microphones. Portable and rechargeable, they will launch in 2026 and come in both black and white models.

### **God of War gets an anniversary controller**

For the 20th anniversary of *God of War*, Sony revealed a limited edition DualSense controller. White with a bold red stripe, it launches on 23 October 2025 for $84.99\. Pre-orders open on 3 October. While some fans may hope for a bigger anniversary project, this collectable will likely be snapped up quickly.

Add to that some thoughtful hardware updates, and Sony is clearly making sure its ecosystem stays strong heading into the holiday season and beyond.
