CHART: Smartphone market in the Gulf region experience decline in Q3 2022

According to data from IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, shipments of mobile phones to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region decreased by 5.9% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) in Q3 2022, totalling 5.23 million units.

Smartphone shipments also saw a QoQ decline of 5.7% to 4.74 million units, while feature phone shipments decreased by 8.1% over the same period to 0.48 million units. In terms of value, the GCC smartphone market was worth $1.93 billion in Q3 2022, an increase of 5.4% QoQ. The feature phone market, on the other hand, saw a decrease of 17.0% to $8.42 million.
