# Google enhances Play Store with new AI-powered features

[Google](https://www.techloy.com/tag/google/) is on a mission to transform the Play Store from a simple app marketplace into an engaging content hub. Recently, the tech giant unveiled a series of new AI features designed to enhance user experience and keep users engaged.

AI takes centre stage with the introduction of AI functionalities powered by Google's [Gemini AI](https://www.techloy.com/tag/google-gemini/) model. It brings key features like AI-powered app comparisons, automatically organized categories for similar apps, dedicated content hubs, and data personalization controls. 

Notably, the app comparison feature helps you easily compare apps within similar categories. When searching for an app, such as one for photo editing, the AI suggests multiple options, each accompanied by a description highlighting its features.

This update follows Google’s announcement at the [Google I/O event](https://www.techloy.com/google-i-o-event-unveiling-the-latest-updates-around-gemini/) in May, where it introduced AI-generated app reviews and FAQs to summarize important reviews and common questions about app listings. These AI-driven features are part of Google’s ongoing efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into its services.

Google is also introducing "shared spaces," a dedicated hub for specific topics like cricket. This feature brings together apps, videos, and other relevant content about specific topic**s** in one place allowing you to explore. While currently limited, there's potential for this to expand to other topics and become a popular way to discover new interests.

Gamers will also benefit from the updates. The Play Store is getting a revamp to help you discover new games, with features like enriched game details and post-purchase support. Plus, you can now play multiple mobile games on your PC.

To top it off, Google is personalizing the Play Store experience with new Collections based on your app usage. The new Collections feature will create custom categories based on users' app purchase histories, ensuring each Google Play home screen is tailored to individual preferences, helping users further streamline app discovery.

These enhancements come as Google prepares to enforce stricter app quality standards, removing apps that fail to meet basic usability or engagement criteria, as it aims to create a more curated and enjoyable app store experience for users.
