# You no longer need a Microsoft 365 subscription to use Outlook for Mac

Microsoft is having a Santa Claus moment in March.

Having been in the news for [the most](https://www.techloy.com/microsoft-integrates-chatgpt-into-bing/) [positive](https://www.techloy.com/microsofts-market-value-2-trillion/) [reasons in recent weeks](https://www.techloy.com/microsoft-cloud-drives-second-quarter-2022-results/) with the ChatGPT wave and integration with Bing and [bringing AI to its Windows 11 platform](https://www.techloy.com/microsoft-bringing-ai-tech-to-windows-11/), the company appears to be enjoying the attention and wants to do freebies.

Its target? MacBook users who want Outlook but don't feel they should pay for a Microsoft 365 licence. 

Starting today, Microsoft is making Outlook for Mac available for free to use [on the Apple App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-outlook/id985367838) – so Mac users no longer need a Microsoft 365 subscription or Office license to use it.
