[Attero Recycling](https://www.attero.in/), an India-based waste management provider, is planning to invest $1 billion to set up lithium-ion recycling facilities in Europe, the US, and Indonesia by 2027.

- The company aims to reduce the production of toxic materials used to power electric vehicles, smart devices, and renewable energy by recycling metals that are harmful to soil and air.
- With plans to open recycling facilities in Poland, Ohio, and Indonesia, Attero expects to recycle over 300,000 metric tons of batteries per year by 2027.
- The company says it will use about 30% of the total investment to expand its operations in Asia, with $200 million to be allocated in India while $100 million will go to Indonesia.
- Attero was founded by Rohan Gupta and Nitin Gupta in 2008.
