Through a new feature called Bing Video Creator, available in the Bing mobile app, users can now generate short videos by simply typing a prompt. The feature uses Sora, the same model from OpenAI that’s been making headlines since its debut in late 2024\. While Sora previously required a paid [ChatGPT](https://www.techloy.com/tag/chatgpt/) plan, Microsoft’s integration opens the door to a broader audience. Microsoft has been gradually embedding OpenAI’s tools into its products. The AI company's AI image generation tool, [DALL·E](https://www.techloy.com/tag/dall-e-3/) showed up in Bing last year, [Copilot](https://www.techloy.com/tag/microsoft-copilot/) is already baked into Office apps, and now video is the next frontier. Then enter your prompt, be as descriptive as possible and hit “Create.” The app will generate a five-second video in vertical format (9:16), with horizontal support (16:9) on the way. But even “fast” isn’t instant; videos can take a few hours to generate. And while you can only queue three prompts at a time and can’t tweak the aspect ratio yet. However, the simplicity and no-cost access make it a great entry point for casual creators. Sora’s arrival in Bing signals how serious Microsoft is about competing with Google and other players in the AI video space. While models like [Google’s Veo](https://www.techloy.com/tag/google-veo/) 3 may offer more advanced features, Microsoft is banking on accessibility and the sheer reach of Bing to win hearts.
