NASA has launched an on-demand ad-free streaming service

After unveiling a new website, NASA – the U.S. government agency responsible for the civil space program, aeronautics research, and space research – has now launched NASA+, its on-demand, ad-free streaming platform available on iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV.

NASA+ aims to be the go-to destination for curious enthusiasts seeking the latest in space science, offering family-friendly news, feature stories, Emmy Award-winning live event coverage, special panels, exclusive interviews, and original video series.

NASA+ also will stream live event coverage, where people everywhere can watch in real-time as the agency launches science experiments and astronauts to space, and ultimately, the first woman and person of color to the Moon, according to NASA.

In a statement, the associate administrator at NASA, Marc Etkind, stated: "We're putting space on demand and at your fingertips with NASA's new streaming platform."

"Transforming our digital presence will help us better tell the stories of how NASA explores the unknown in air and space, inspires through discovery, and innovates for the benefit of humanity," he added.

You can access NASA+ via your web browser by visiting the NASA+ website and also via the NASA App which has undergone a major overhaul, featuring a clean interface.

The app's updates include full access to on-demand streaming with NASA+, cloud push notifications, International Space Station sightings and notifications that allow users to watch it pass overhead, the ability to rate photos and explore and share the highest-rated ones, and Augmented reality that allows users to view, rotate, and enlarge 3D models of NASA rockets, spacecraft, and rovers.
