Nigerian cleantech startup Kaltani secures $4 million seed funding

Kaltani, a Nigeria-based cleantech startup has secured $4 million in seed funding to tackle plastic pollution and expand its recycling services in the country.

  • The recycling startup plans to open 20 new plastic collection centers in Nigeria and increase its employee number to 500 to recycle 15,000 tones plastic waste annually.
  • With a team of 100 spread across the country for plastic bottle collection and processing, Kaltani uses data analytics, predictive analytics, and geo-mapping for waste collection, sorting, washing and recycling.
  • The startup converts collected plastic waste to PET flakes, PE and PP pellets as raw materials for manufacturing companies.
