# Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be available in South Africa on August 24

Samsung unveiled its [Galaxy Note 9](https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-note9/) yesterday, boasting more powerful hardware and an improved stylus with availability starting August 24, 2018, in several markets across the globe, including Africa.

The new smartphone, which features a 6.4-inch display, running Android 8.1 OS, a 10nm 64-bit Octa-core processor, comes with either 128GB or 512GB of internal storage, 6GB or 8GB RAM, supports a 512GB microSD card, packs a 4,000mAh battery, and a 12MP rear camera with an 8MP front camera, is said to be the world’s most advanced smartphone.

[According to](https://mybroadband.co.za/news/smartphones/271381-samsung-galaxy-note-9-south-african-pricing-and-release-date.html) *MyBroadband*, the Galaxy Note 9’s 128GB will be available in South Africa at a recommended retail price of R18,999 ($1,350) from August 24 in three colours — Midnight Black, Metallic Copper, and Ocean Blue, while the Lavender Purple variant will launch later.
