Singaporean VC firm Temasek launches a $3.6 billion decarbonization investment platform

Temasek, a venture capital firm based in Singapore has launched GenZero, an investment platform with a $3.6 billion fund to focus on carbon reductions globally.

  • GenZero will invest the funds in early-stage companies building out technologies and natural ways to reduce carbon emissions, and focusing on developing a more efficient carbon trading infrastructure.
  • The sustainable investments will target building, scaling, and commercializing emerging technologies through long term capital provisions.
  • The firm has invested in Newlight, an alternative plastic production company in the US, and currently partners with C-Quest Capital to provide cooking stoves in Asia.
