South Korean startup Bucketplace secures $182 million in Series D round

Bucketplace, a home décor and interior startup based in South Korea has secured $182 million in a Series D funding round. The startup claims the funding will be used to add augmented reality (AR) to its popular app, OHouse to enable customers to visualise furniture and decor for their homes.

  • The startup intends to acquire more tech talents and expand its market to Japan, Southeast Asia, and the US with the new funding raised.
  • Founded in 2016, Bucketplace launched its OHouse app that enables designers and home decorators to share pictures of their designs with the feature to select and buy favourite items after perusing different collections.  
  • The startup has acquired HipVan, an online furniture platform based in Singapore and it's looking out for more expansion opportunities in local and foreign markets, the CEO (Jay Lee) claims.
