CHART: Southern Africa's PC market declined 21.4% in H1 2023

During the first half of 2023, Southern Africa's personal computing device (PCD) market, encompassing desktops, notebooks, workstations, and tablets, saw a significant decline of 21.4% compared to the previous year, according to International Data Corporation (IDC).

As shown in the Techloy chart below, HP Inc. maintained its top spot in the PC segment with a 26.1% share, representing a 2.3 percentage point increase from H1 2022. Dell Technologies followed with an 18.9% share, pushing Lenovo into third place with 17.8%. Asus secured the fourth position, with its share increasing year on year to 15.0%.
