Substack podcasters can now stream their episodes on Spotify
Substack has introduced a Spotify integration feature alongside other features for its podcasters that would enable them to sync and distribute their free and paid episodes to Spotify's streaming service.
The online publishing platform also introduced new custom audio transcripts and captions, along with improvements to clip sharing and mobile video. The introduction of these new features comes after the podcast platform announced that its podcasters are collectively earning more than $100 million in annual revenue, with the number more than doubling in 2023. The number of active podcasters on the platform has also more than doubled in the same year.

Podcasters can use the new integration feature by going to their podcast settings, opening the Spotify dropdown, and clicking the "Sync to Spotify" option to create a new feed with all current and future episodes. Paid episodes are labeled with a padlock, and listeners need to link their Substack account to Spotify to listen to paid episodes directly on the streaming service.
Substack also confirmed that podcasters can use the new custom audio transcripts and captions by uploading their transcripts instead of using the ones automatically generated by the platform. It further clarified that the new features have been made available to all users globally.
