Asia-based startups raised more than $1.3 billion in VC funding this week

This week on The Draft, we tracked more than 75 tech and startup funding deals across emerging markets in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, worth over $1.8 billion.

Asia-based companies raised over $1.3 billion in disclosed VC funding this week; companies in the Middle East raised over $234 million; companies in Africa raised over $174 million; and companies in Latin America raised over $31 million.

Companies that raised more than $100 million this week included South Korean agritech startup Greenlabs, Turkish mobile game developer Dream Games, Chinese artificial intelligence startup Axera, and Bahrain-based cryptocurrency exchange Rain Financial.
