U.S. e-commerce giant, Walmart Inc. is set to cut more than 2,000 jobs in five of its warehouses, according to a *Bloomberg* report.

The job cuts at Walmart include over 1,000 roles at a warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas, 600 positions at a Pennsylvania fulfilment centre, 400 jobs in Florida, and 200 in New Jersey, according to regulatory filings. Further reductions are expected to be made in California, although the exact figures are unknown.

It remains unclear how these layoffs will affect Walmart's overall employment figures. The retail giant is currently the largest private-sector employer in the U.S., with 2.3 million employees globally as of January 2022, according to company data.
