The most likely cause is a feature called Adaptive Battery. Now, in theory, Adaptive Battery is a pretty clever tool. It uses machine learning to determine which apps you use often and which you don’t. Then, it limits background activity for the apps you rarely touch, helping your battery last longer. This sounds great, but that’s not always the case. 

Let’s say you only check your banking app once a week. Adaptive Battery sees that and says, “Cool, we’ll slow this one down in the background.” But what if that same app needs to send you a time-sensitive alert? Or worse, you open it and it takes a few extra seconds to load because it was put to sleep. That’s when this helpful feature can start to feel more annoying than smart.

If your phone already has solid battery life or charges quickly, you may not need this feature getting in the way. And if you like to get all your notifications instantly, you’ll want your apps awake and alert, not sleeping in the background. ## How to disable Adaptive Battery on Samsung

### Step 1: Open the settings app on your phone, scroll down and select Device Care.
