Instagram or Twitter: Which will claim the throne in the kingdom of text-based apps?

In the midst of the ongoing AI chatbot wars, another battle is brewing—one that might even warrant its own sequel series titled: "The Game of the Text-Based App Thrones."

Okay, maybe that title sounded better in my head, but you get the idea.

This impending rivalry comes after reports that Facebook's sister company Instagram is developing its own text-based app that would maintain a Twitter-like centralized feed, allowing users to view content such as text, images and videos shared by followers and recommended accounts.

Given the recent controversies surrounding Twitter, which have resulted in the departure of advertisers, creators, and media channels from the platform, I'm wondering if the meta-owned app could become the ultimate destination for all anti-Twitter campaigns. Or will Twitter hold on to its throne and maintain its dominance?

Stay tuned as the battle of text-based apps is about to get started.
