Google Photos is getting a new video editing feature that will make enhancing your clips a breeze. Similar to the existing "Enhance" option for photos, this feature will automatically adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and other video qualities with a single tap.

Spotted by Assemble Debug in Google Photos version 6.81.0.628906483 (Note: This is not yet widely available), this feature appears as a magic wand icon next to the stabilization button when editing a video.

But there’s a catch.

The processing happens entirely on your device, and the time it takes depends on the video length. Once the enhancements are applied, you can save the edited version as a copy like with pictures. Early looks suggest the "Enhance your video" feature noticeably improves contrast and saturation.

While the exact release date is unknown, it shouldn't be too far off. This feature promises to simplify video editing for those who want to quickly improve the look of their clips in Google Photos.

This feature is just one of several improvements Google is developing for Google Photos. With Google I/O approaching, we might see official announcements regarding these upcoming enhancements, including a potential option to hide unwanted content like memes from your main photo feed.
