Apple is preparing for some dramatic changes in 2026. In the latest edition of his Bloomberg Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman says we are to expect new iPads and Macs, a new low-cost MacBook designed to take on Chromebooks. He also mentioned that the upcoming iOS 26.4 is bringing a Siri overhaul, and surprisingly, OLED displays are coming to the Mac lineup later this year.

Here is everything you need to know:

The iPad Lineup

According to Gurman, Apple is expected to release a new iPad Air this year. The company is also working on “a refreshed entry-level model.” However, there might be no major feature updates, but it would come with a faster processor.

The iPad mini, the newsletter says, is expected to come this year with an OLED screen. The entry-level iPad will get the A18 chip, and the iPad Air will come with the M4.

New Macs are coming

Apple is also reportedly preparing a broad wave of Mac updates, spanning both notebooks and desktops. According to Gurman, some Macs, including the new 14-inch, 16-inch MacBook Pros and the MacBook Air with an M5 Processor could come as early as Apple's next event.

The company is also expected to release an upgraded Mac Studio Display. The Studio Display might be similar to the current one, and users might also get the new Mac Minis coming with Apple’s latest chip.

A New Low-cost Mac?

Gurman says Apple is planning to drop a new “groundbreaking low-cost MacBook.”

It is expected to come with an under-13-inch screen and be powered by an iPhone-class chip.

Software Updates

Alongside new hardware, Apple is also preparing to release new software updates, including iOS 26.4, which is expected to roll out in the coming weeks. The iOS update is expected to include early parts of Apple’s next Siri upgrade. Gurman noted that “Apple expects to deliver the first beta version of iOS 26.4 to developers the week of Feb. 23.”

Still on release timelines, the report says the new MacBook Pro models are tied to the macOS 26.3 release cycle, which will run through March. The current M4-based MacBook Pro models are also in short supply, which Gurman says is “a telltale sign that new models are coming.” A product launch is currently slated for as early as the week of March 2.

Health and Fitness

According to Gurman’s newsletter, Apple is scrapping its long-planned AI virtual health coach, which would have used iPhone, Apple Watch, and lab data to give personalized wellness advice.

Instead, Apple will repurpose many of the planned features into the Health app over time. This includes tools like gait analysis using the iPhone camera and video content produced at Apple’s Oakland studio, with some capabilities expected to appear later this year.

OLED and Touch are coming

While the iPad Pro moved to tandem OLED displays in 2024, the Mac lineup has remained tied to LCD and mini-LED. Gurman notes that it is expected to change in late 2026.

“For Mac fans, the most significant new computer in years is coming: a MacBook Pro featuring an OLED screen and touch support,” Gurman says
