Apple has increased the cost of its Apple Cash Instant Transfer Feature. According to an alert sent to customers via email and in the app this week, the fee will rise from 1.5% to 1.7% starting February 18, 2026.
The minimum fee remains $0.25, while the maximum fee cap increases from $15 to $25.
Instant Transfer lets users move their Apple Cash balance to a linked debit card in minutes rather than waiting days for a standard bank transfer. Users will still have the option to send funds via the ACH network in 1–3 business days at no cost.
Under the new structure, transferring $1,000 instantly would cost about $17, instead of the current $15. Apple Cash operates within the U.S. and functions as a peer-to-peer balance for payments and banking transfers.
Apple did not publicly comment beyond notifying users and updating terms. In in-app notices, users were informed of the upcoming fee adjustments ahead of implementation.
Competitors like Venmo, Cash App and PayPal also impose percentage-based charges for immediate transfers, typically around 1.5–2% with fee caps. Observers say the raised cap aligns Apple Cash with these services rather than positioning the feature as a low-cost standout.
