Deezer releases “My Deezer Year 2025” ahead of Spotify’s Wrapped rollout
The platform drops its annual recap early, using a story-style format to grab attention before Spotify’s year-end launch.
Deezer has jumped ahead of the end-of-year recap rush with the release of “My Deezer Year 2025.” While Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music are still preparing their annual summaries, Deezer moved early in an attempt to capture attention before Spotify Wrapped takes over the internet.
Instead of a traditional slide-based recap, Deezer shaped this year’s experience as a short narrative. The design borrows from the style of a romantic comedy, where your listening habits are presented as a storyline.
It starts with the new artists you discovered, moves into a segment highlighting your top three artists, and closes with your most played tracks for the year. The structure feels slower and more stylized than Spotify Wrapped, which usually leans on fast, bold visuals meant for quick social sharing.

The platform also brought back its compatibility quiz, which lets users test their knowledge of their own listening habits and compare results with friends. For the first time, anyone can participate, even without a Deezer account. This is a clear attempt to broaden social engagement during a season typically dominated by Spotify.
Deezer added a few global listening stats as well. On average, users streamed more than 122 hours of music, listened to nearly 700 tracks, and discovered over 350 new songs. It is a subtle reminder that the platform still maintains an active listener base, even if the cultural spotlight usually lands elsewhere.

The takeaway
While Spotify Wrapped 2025 is expected to roll out this Wednesday, December 3rd, and will likely dominate global timelines once again, Deezer’s early launch gives it a brief window to stand out. Users on iOS and Android can open the app to access their recap immediately.
