Everything you need to know about the GamrX4rce 2025 event
No ticket to Riyadh? Pull up to Landmark Centre, Lagos, on Friday instead.
If you’re free this Friday, August 8, you might want to pull up to Carven at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, for what could be the biggest gaming event in Africa this year: GamrX4rce.
Entry is completely free. All you need to do is register on gamrx.net and grab your ticket.
The last time I was at Carven, it was for SpotifyXGamr: Powered by Music, and honestly, that night still lives rent-free in my head. Ayo Maff and Qing Madi shut it down; the energy was electric, and the space was alive with music, gaming, and community.

If that was just a taste, GamrX4rce might be the full-course meal. This event is the fourth edition of the GamrX series which began in 2022 with 5,000 gamers from 15 countries.
In 2023, the competition levelled up as 18 nations battled it out for a $15,000 prize pool. This year, over 20 countries will step into the arena, bringing even more firepower and fanfare to the table.
Gamers from across Africa will compete in games like EA Sports FC25, PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, Mortal Kombat, CODM, and Street Fighter, live in front of an audience that knows what’s at stake. The event also brings together creators, fans, and industry leaders for a packed experience.
You can expect game demos, cosplay contests, DJ sets, and appearances by creators like Khalamanja, Bloodsport, and Ronin.exe. Whether you’re coming to compete, watch, network, or just enjoy the chaos, GamrX4rce delivers on every front.
At the centre of all this is Gamr, the company behind GamrX4rce. Since launching in 2021, they’ve grown to a network of over 400,000 gamers across the continent, building out tournaments, leagues, and a thriving digital platform that helps players go pro, earn, and connect.
Their flagship venue, Carven, is a hybrid gaming lounge, esports arena, VR lab, and hangout spot that’s pushing Lagos into the global gaming spotlight. Backed by global accelerators like Google’s Black Founders Fund, Gamr is on a mission to become Africa’s first gaming unicorn, and they’re moving fast.
While many African gamers can’t attend the 2025 Esports World Cup currently happening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at least we have one closer to home. Register now, show up ready, and step into a moment that belongs to all of us. I’ll be there. You should be, too.
