Until now, Apple’s premium pricing and limited product portfolio have often been seen as a barrier to its expansion in India. But, the company's increased focus on distribution and marketing is turning the tide, as it views India as a critical future market.

This new approach has driven India to become Apple's fifth-largest iPhone market in the second quarter of 2023, surpassing Germany and France, and ranking behind the U.K., Japan, China, and the U.S., according to data from research group Counterpoint.
