Chinese smartphone maker iQOO has officially launched its flagship, the iQOO 15, in India, bringing high-end specs and a fresh software experience to the market. This new device is the third smartphone in India to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, putting it head-to-head with rivals like the OnePlus 15 and Realme GT 8 Pro.

One of the biggest talking points about the iQOO 15 is its software. It’s the first Vivo or iQOO phone to ship with OriginOS 6, the company’s new custom skin that replaces FuntouchOS. OriginOS 6 is based on Android 16, promising a cleaner, more modern interface, better performance, and improved system animations. iQOO is also committing to 5 OS updates and 7 years of security patches, which should give users confidence in long-term support—a rare promise in today’s Android world.

The display on the iQOO 15 is equally impressive. It features a 6.85-inch Samsung 2K M14 LEAD OLED panel, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 6,000 nits. The screen also supports Dolby Vision, making it ideal for watching high-resolution videos or gaming with vivid colors. To top it off, the phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring it can handle dust, splashes, and even accidental submersion.

Battery life is another strong suit. The iQOO 15 packs a massive 7,000 mAh battery, coupled with 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. iQOO has also claimed that the device will feature India’s largest 8K VC cooling system, which should help keep the phone cool during intensive gaming sessions or heavy multitasking.

Under the hood, the iQOO 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. For gamers, iQOO adds a Q3 chip to enhance gaming performance and support for ray tracing, which can deliver richer visuals in compatible games.

Photography gets a major upgrade, too. The iQOO 15 features a triple 50MP camera system: a Sony IMX921 main sensor, a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Selfies are handled by a 32MP front camera, making it versatile for content creators, vloggers, and casual photographers alike.

On the design front, the phone comes in two distinct editions: the Alpha Edition with a sleek matte black finish, and the Legend Edition, featuring a tri-color patterned logo for those who want something more eye-catching.

Pricing starts at ₹72,999 ($818) for the 12GB/256GB variant and goes up to ₹79,999 for the 16GB/512GB variant. The iQOO 15 will go on sale starting December 1, available on Amazon, the iQOO website, Vivo stores, and other retail outlets across India.

With its top-tier hardware, large battery, advanced cooling system, and the debut of OriginOS 6, the iQOO 15 looks poised to make a serious impact in India’s premium smartphone market. For fans of high-end Android devices who want a mix of performance, design, and long-term software support, this one is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
