iQOO has launched the iQOO 15R in India, expanding its 15-series lineup with a new option aimed at buyers in the premium segment. The device sits below the standard iQOO 15 but still carries many of the high-end specifications that are becoming common in this price range.

The iQOO 15R runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the same chip powering devices like the OnePlus 15, which places it firmly in the performance-focused category, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. On paper, it matches what several rivals are offering this year.

iQOO 15 Ultra to Launch in February With Built-In Fan, 144Hz Display and 7,000mAh Battery
The iQOO 15 Ultra launches February with a built-in active cooling fan, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and a massive 7,000mAh battery.

The display follows the same pattern as the phone, featuring a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a refresh rate that can scale from 60Hz up to 144Hz, with support for higher refresh rates during gaming. It also reaches up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness and supports HDR10+.

Battery capacity is one area where the 15R stands out numerically. It packs a 7,600mAh battery, which is larger than what most devices in this segment typically offer. With the massive battery also comes support for 100W wired charging. The charger is included in the box.

There’s also bypass charging, a feature that helps reduce heat buildup during gaming by drawing power directly from the charger instead of the battery.

In terms of cameras, the setup is relatively straightforward. The rear houses a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700V primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, there’s a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. So it's clear where iQOO had to make compromises to keep things in this price range.

On the software side, the phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. IQOO has promised four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, aligning with the longer support cycles that buyers increasingly expect. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding durability that isn’t always guaranteed at this price.

Pricing starts at ₹44,999 ($495) for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB version is priced at ₹47,999 ($530), while the 12GB + 512GB model costs ₹52,999 ($585). The iQOO 15R will be available in Triumph Silver and Dark Knight colour options, with sales beginning March 3 through Amazon and offline retail channels.

Overall, the iQOO 15R appears to follow a familiar formula for 2026’s premium segment: flagship-level processor, high-refresh display, large battery, and extended software support.
