If you woke up asking, “Are EA servers down?” you weren’t alone.
For hours, thousands of players couldn’t access their favourite EA titles, with widespread complaints about login failures, server connection errors, and broken gameplay sessions across major franchises.
At the peak of the disruption, Downdetector showed a sharp spike in reports. Around 3 a.m., the platform recorded 1,846 high reports, confirming that the outage wasn’t isolated, it was widespread.
According to Downdetector at the time of this report, 55% of users reported server connection issues, 19% experienced login problems, and 17% flagged gameplay disruptions.
Most reports were coming from users in the United States.
This meant players weren’t just getting kicked mid-match, many couldn’t even log into their accounts.
The outage impacted multiple EA online titles, including, EA Sports FC 24 (especially Ultimate Team mode), Madden NFL 24, Battlefield 2042, and The Sims 4.
For Ultimate Team players grinding objectives or Squad Battles, the timing couldn’t have been worse. Disconnects were reportedly counting as losses, adding fuel to the frustration.
Players React
Gamers quickly flooded X with complaints, tagging EA’s official handles.
One frustrated player wrote, “middle of my heavyweight final game and dogshit ea servers go down”
Another wrote, “All the money this company has and their servers go down 5 hours before rewards costing people time, games and wins, how are the servers so shit?? Constantly releasing massive point packs, receiving a massive flux of income and these are your servers? Joke company. #fc26 #ea.”
Another player wrote, “I work hard all day to come home and play fifaAnd the servers are down Nice @EASPORTSFC.”
The sentiment was consistent: players felt the outages were happening too often, especially for a company of EA’s scale.
EA Server Status: Are EA Servers Back Up?
The good news? As of the time of this report, EA’s games are back online.
While Electronic Arts has not released a detailed explanation about what caused the outage, services have been restored and players are gradually regaining access to online modes.
