OnePlus 15 Lands in India with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite and a 7,300 mAh Battery
The OnePlus 15 focuses on power, battery life, and AI features as competition in India’s premium phone market tightens.
If you’ve been trying to upgrade your phone in India this year, you already know how crowded and confusing the flagship market has become. Prices keep rising, improvements feel incremental, and every new launch promises to be the breakthrough. With the OnePlus 15 now official in India, the company is positioning this model as its answer to that problem.
OnePlus is introducing the 15 as the first phone in India powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite chipset. It brings two prime cores running at 4.6GHz and six performance cores at 3.62GHz, aiming to deliver consistent speed across gaming, multitasking, and day-to-day use. Built on TSMC’s 3nm process, the chip is also designed to be more power efficient than the previous generation.
Battery life is another area where OnePlus is making a clear statement. The 15 carries a 7,300 mAh battery, the largest the company has offered so far. It supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. OnePlus says the battery should retain around 80% of its capacity after four years of use, which speaks to the company’s push for longevity rather than short-term performance gains.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 15 uses a triple 50 MP setup at the back, covering the main, ultrawide, and telephoto ranges with 3.5x optical zoom. The front has a 32 MP sensor for selfies and video calls. It supports 4K video at 120 fps, along with new features like Ultra Clear Mode, the DetailMax image engine, and an improved document scanner that converts images into PDFs.
The display measures 6.78 inches and uses an LTPO AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It reaches a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and can dim down to 0.5 nits for low-light viewing. OnePlus has also moved back to a flat display, which many users prefer for durability and ease of adding screen protectors.
The phone ships with OxygenOS 16 on Android 16. The software introduces a new Liquid Glass-inspired interface and a dedicated OnePlus AI section inside settings. This includes real-time translation during calls, system-wide smart text generation, and deeper integration with Google Gemini for organising notes and screenshots more easily.

Other additions include the Plus Button for quick access actions, a Car Sick Mode that reduces motion sickness for passengers using their phones in moving vehicles, and an IP69K rating for protection against high-pressure water and extreme temperatures.
The pricing in India is set at ₹72,999 ($823) for the 12GB plus 256GB model and ₹75,999 ($857) for the 16GB plus 512GB model. Early buyers receive Nord Buds 3, a lifetime display warranty, and three months of Google AI Pro. HDFC cardholders also get a ₹4,000 ($45) discount.
Conclusion
The OnePlus 15 enters a competitive moment in India’s premium segment. It focuses on performance, battery life, software support, and durability rather than radical design changes. How it stacks up against rivals like the Realme GT 8 Pro and upcoming flagships will depend on how much value users place on raw power, long-term battery health, and integrated AI features.
