Redmi will launch its new Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max smartphones in China on January 29, the company owned by Xiaomi said today.
Alongside the phones, the brand will also introduce the Redmi Buds 8 Pro and a special Harry Potter Edition of the Pad 2 Pro. Here’s a closer look at what each model is expected to offer.
Redmi Turbo 5

The Redmi Turbo 5 is the first of this series, and it’s designed as the entry point into the high-performance mid-range segment. It is expected to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a high refresh rate (likely 144Hz), delivering fluid visuals for gaming and daily scrolling. The design retains a familiar aesthetic but refines the bezels for a more immersive look. It is expected to come in Midnight Black, Starry White, and a vibrant Aurora Green.
Under the hood, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. This processor balances power and efficiency, making it capable of handling demanding games and heavy multitasking without overheating. It will ship with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS.
It comes with a capable 50MP main sensor suited for everyday photography. The device will come with a 6,000mAh battery and 90W fast charging, ensuring users can get through a full day of heavy use with ease.
Redmi Turbo 5 Max

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is the powerhouse of the pair, designed specifically for power users and mobile gamers. It upgrades the build quality significantly by featuring a CNC metal frame and a fibreglass rear panel, offering a more premium and durable feel compared to standard plastic mid-rangers. It will be available in a professional Titanium Grey, alongside two unique textured finishes: Ocean Breeze Blue and Sunrise Orange.
Performance is the main selling point of this phone. The Max model is confirmed to feature the flagship-grade MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset and for display it comes with a 6.78” 2K LTPO OLED, with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Another standout feature is its endurance. The Turbo 5 Max packs a massive 9,000mAh battery. It supports 100W fast charging, minimizing downtime. With this combination, the Turbo 5 Max targets users who prioritize screen-on time above all else.
Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition

Targeted specifically at collectors, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Harry Porter edition comes with a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen and a 2.5K resolution. The display supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate for fast stylus response and smooth scrolling, with brightness hitting 600 nits. The audio experience is equally immersive, driven by a quad-speaker system tuned with Dolby Atmos.
The tablet packs a massive 12,000mAh battery, one of the largest in its class. It supports 100W fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, so it’s also an on-the-go powerbank for your phones and earbuds.
Internally, the device is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset that offers good gaming experience. It runs on a custom Hogwarts-themed HyperOS 2.0 (based on Android 15), which allows it to have features like split-screen and floating windows. For cameras, it hosts a 8MP rear camera at the back and 8MP ultra-wide front-facing lens for video calls.
Redmi Buds 8 Pro

The earbuds comes with a coaxial dual-driver system (11mm bass driver + 6mm tweeter) and support the high-res LHDC 5.0 codec for superior sound quality. The buds 8 Pro has also pushed Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to an impressive 55db.
The Redmi 8 Pro buds offer a dedicated 49ms low latency mode, that gives near-perfect audio syncs with screen actions when gaming. It offers 10 hours of playback per changer ad up to 42 hours with the case.
The buds support dual device connectivity — allowing you to switch between devices seamlessly, and it has IP54 dust and water resistance.
