Samsung unveils the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, sets launch for September 4
It marks the return of the “Lite” line for the first time since the Tab S6 Lite in 2020
At this point, Samsung fans have heard plenty of rumors about the Tab S11 series release, with leaks and industry insiders suggesting a launch in September, although the company hasn’t officially confirmed anything beyond that vague timeline. What Samsung has announced, however, is the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, a new budget model set to launch alongside the S11 lineup.
It marks the return of the “Lite” line for the first time since the Tab S6 Lite in 2020, giving buyers a lower-cost entry into Samsung’s premium tablets while still carrying many of the AI-powered features from the higher-end models.
The tablet, according to Samsung, will launch on September 4 and, despite some confusion around pricing in early press materials, Samsung has since confirmed that the Tab S10 Lite will start at $799. That puts it well below the $980 Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, but above the $500 Galaxy Tab S10 FE, making it a kind of middle ground for those who want solid specs without going all in on the most expensive option.
On paper, the Tab S10 Lite offers a familiar but well-rounded setup. It comes with a 10.9-inch display at 2112 x 1320 resolution, with 600 nits of brightness and low blue light certification to ease eye strain. It runs on Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chip, paired with either 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or 8GB and 256GB. If that’s not enough, you can expand storage up to 2TB via microSD. Powering everything is a sizeable 8,000mAh battery, which should keep it running comfortably through a full day of work or streaming.
The tablet also includes an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, enough for video calls and casual snaps. And yes, Samsung is bundling the S Pen in the box, something Apple continues to charge separately for with the iPad. Speaking of which, at this price point, the Tab S10 Lite is clearly positioned against Apple’s standard iPad, currently one of the most popular options for budget-conscious buyers. While Apple leans heavily on its app ecosystem, Samsung is betting that its integration of Galaxy AI features like Circle to Search, Handwriting Assist, and even a dedicated AI key on its optional keyboard cover will help its tablet stand out.

The Tab S10 Lite feels like a smart bridge between affordability and functionality that could define Samsung’s tablet strategy going forward if it does well. With its combination of AI features, S Pen support, and a competitive mid-range price, it could be a strong alternative for anyone who doesn’t want to wait until the next wave of Galaxy tablets arrives.
