Scuf Gaming has officially revealed the Scuf Omega, a new premium performance controller designed for competitive players and fully licensed for PlayStation 5 consoles.

Launched globally on the 12th of May, the controller is being positioned as the culmination of 15 years of esports-focused hardware development, with Scuf saying the Omega was shaped directly by feedback from professional players and championship teams.

The biggest selling point of the Scuf Omega is customization. The controller features a total number of 28 inputs, including 11 extra programmable controls made up of four rear paddles, two side buttons, and five G-Keys. According to Scuf, the layout is designed to keep players’ thumbs on the sticks during high-pressure gameplay moments, allowing actions like jumping, reloading, or sliding without sacrificing aim.

What is the Scuf Omega about?

The Omega also supports deep remapping options directly on the controller itself or through the new Scuf Mobile App, available on iOS and Android. Players can create multiple controller profiles, customize trigger sensitivity, tweak thumbstick response curves, recalibrate sticks, and even configure SOCD settings for fighting games.

On PC, the controller also supports RGB lighting customization.

Jake Tenorio, the director for Gaming at PlayStation, explained the thinking behind the Scuf Omega, highlighting how years of pro player insights shaped its development.

“Building on 15 years of pro player insights and controller design, Scuf Omega is a new performance controller officially licensed for PlayStation 5 consoles and compatible with PS5, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android, engineered for seamless integration, low-latency connectivity, and the advanced customization Scuf is known for,” Tenorio said.

Under the hood, Scuf Omega uses Omron mechanical switches across its triggers, D-pad, and face buttons, the same type of clicky switch technology commonly found in high-end gaming mice. Adjustable Instant Triggers allow players to switch between rapid click-style inputs for shooters and full analog control for racing or simulation titles.

Another standout feature is the inclusion of Endurance TMR Thumbsticks, which use non-contact magnetic sensing technology aimed at improving long-term durability and reducing stick drift concerns. Players can swap between different thumbstick heights and shapes depending on preference.

The controller is also designed with esports ergonomics in mind. Scuf says vibration modules have been removed to reduce overall weight and eliminate distractions during precision gameplay. A non-slip grip texture has also been added for longer gaming sessions.

Beyond PS5 compatibility, the controller also works across PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.

Pricing places the Omega firmly in the premium category. The controller launches at $219.99 USD, €239.99 EUR, £209.99 GBP, ¥37,980 JPY.

With customizable inputs, mechanical switches, esports-focused ergonomics, and extensive software tweaking options, the Scuf Omega looks positioned to compete directly with other high-end controllers targeting competitive FPS and fighting game players.
