Everything Announced at the Amazon Hardware Event 2025

It could reshape how Alexa fits into daily life, with Amazon’s Big Fall Event showcasing smarter speakers, brighter displays, and new devices powered by Alexa Plus.

by David Adubiina Ogbonda Chivumnovu

After years of teasers and warm-ups, Amazon finally pulled back the curtain on its new hardware lineup in New York. For a company that’s leaned so heavily on Alexa and its software smarts, the truth is that software only shines when the hardware around it does. Google has Nest. Apple has HomePods and Apple TVs. And Amazon? It’s long been the player trying to prove Alexa deserves a spot at the center of your living room.

This year’s showcase felt different, more like Amazon finally putting its full hand on the table. The announcements went beyond shinier designs and brighter screens (though there was plenty of that). At the heart of it all was Alexa Plus, a new AI-powered assistant meant to tie the ecosystem together. From smarter speakers to larger displays to TVs that adapt to your space, here’s everything Amazon rolled out.

Amazon’s Big Fall Event: What to Expect on September 30
We might finally get new Echo and Kindle devices!

Amazon’s new Echo Studio

Powered by Amazon’s AZ3 Pro chip, the new Echo Studio is tuned for sharper conversation detection and advanced AI models. It’s 40% smaller than the original but packs three full-range drivers, a custom woofer, and support for Dolby Atmos and spatial audio.

For the first time, the light ring moves to the front. You can also connect up to five speakers with a Fire TV stick for what Amazon calls “Alexa Home Theater.” Price starts at $219.99, shipping October 29, with U.S. buyers getting early access to Alexa Plus–Amazon’s upgraded AI assistant.

Alongside the Echo Studio comes the Echo Dot Max at $99.99, positioned directly against Apple’s HomePod Mini. The familiar sphere now has a flat face with controls and an LED ring. Inside, the AZ3 chip filters background noise, while a redesigned sound system delivers nearly three times the bass. It’s also the first Dot with two speakers: a high-excursion woofer and a tweeter. Preorders are open now, with availability starting October 29.

Echo Show 8 and 11

Amazon didn’t skip its smart displays. The Echo Show 8 now carries a sharper LCD with wider viewing angles, while the Echo Show 11 feels like a natural step up from the old Show 10 with a 1080p screen. Both devices are slimmer, with thinner bezels, a 13MP camera, and front-facing speakers for clearer spatial audio. Unlike the motorized Show 10, these models stay put, though you can add a magnetic stand for tilt.

New Fire TVs

The new Omni QLED Fire TVs are 60% brighter than the last generation, with Dolby Vision, HDR10 Plus, and adaptive color that shifts with your room lighting. They range from 50 to 75 inches, and pricing starts at $479.99. Amazon also refreshed its 2- and 4-Series Fire TVs, thinner and faster with a new quad-core chip, starting at $159.99. All now come with Alexa Plus built in for smarter searches and recommendations.

Kindle finally gets a splash of colour

Amazon is giving its Kindle line a makeover with three new Kindle Scribes, including the standout Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. Starting at $629.99, it offers up to two weeks of battery life and lets you highlight, draw, and write in colour when it arrives later this year.

If that’s out of budget, there’s also a $429.99 entry-level Scribe and a $499.99 mid-tier model with a frontlit display. All three come with an 11-inch screen, slimmer bezels, a lighter design, and new AI tools that can even summarise your notes.

A new Fire TV Stick with Amazon’s own OS

Streaming is getting a bump too. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select is the first device powered by Amazon’s long-rumoured Vega OS, promising smoother performance, 4K playback, and HDR10 Plus support. Alongside the usual streaming apps, Amazon says Xbox Gaming, Luna, and Alexa Plus integration are on the way. Price tag? $39.99, and it’s already up for preorder.

Ring cameras step into 4K

Ring’s latest lineup is all about sharper video. The company introduced a series of new cameras and doorbells with 4K resolution and its “Retinal Vision” technology. That includes the $249.99 Ring Wired Doorbell Pro 4K, $199.99 Outdoor Cam Pro 4K, $249.99 Spotlight Cam Pro 4K, and the $279.99 Floodlight Cam Pro 4K.

For those who don’t need 4K, there’s a $179.99 Ring Wired Doorbell and a $59.99 Indoor Cam Plus with 2K video. New features also include AI facial recognition, Alexa Plus-powered greetings, and a quirky “Search Party” tool for helping neighbours locate lost dogs.

Blink is shaking things up with the Arc, a $99.99 device that uses two lenses to stitch together a 180-degree panoramic view of your yard. No more switching between feeds, it’s all in one frame.

The company also launched the Blink Outdoor 2K Plus and Blink Mini 2K Plus, both offering sharper resolution, better audio, colour night vision, and two-way talking with noise cancellation.

Everything Amazon announced at its Alexa Plus AI event
If you were hoping for new Echo speakers, Echo Buds, or an updated Echo Hub, you’re out of luck.

Conclusion

Amazon’s 2025 fall showcase wasn’t just about rolling out shinier gadgets; it was about showing how Alexa Plus now runs through everything, from the speakers on your shelf to the TV in your living room, the Kindle in your bag, and the cameras on your front door. By blending hardware upgrades with AI smarts, Amazon is betting big on keeping its devices at the centre of your home life.

Whether you’re after sharper sound, brighter screens, or just a splash of colour on your Kindle, this year’s lineup feels like Amazon laying down its vision for the next chapter of connected living. And if history is any guide, today’s announcements won’t be the last twist in how Alexa keeps evolving.
