Gran Turismo 7 just dropped its first major update of 2026, and it’s packed with fresh content—from rare cars to new race events—while also setting the stage for the highly anticipated Gran Turismo World Series 2026 season.
Update 1.69 is now live, bringing a mix of performance beasts, nostalgic classics, and gameplay upgrades that continue to expand the racing sim’s depth.
Three New Cars Lead the Update
The headline additions are three very different machines that reflect Gran Turismo’s wide automotive range:
- Yangwang U9 ’24
A futuristic electric hypercar delivering a massive 1,286 BHP. With four motors, one per wheel, it rockets from 0–62 mph in just 2.36 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars ever added to the game.
- Renault Twingo ’93
A compact, quirky city car that became a cult favorite thanks to its clever design and practicality. It’s a reminder that not every race is about raw speed.
- Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau (964) ’93
The standout for collectors. With only 86 units ever produced, this ultra-rare 911 blends classic styling with high-performance engineering, making it one of the most desirable additions in this update.
New Events and Gameplay Features
Update 1.69 isn’t just about cars, it also adds new ways to play three new World Circuit events, including races at Circuit, Gilles-Villeneuve, Yas Marina Circuit, and Autódromo de Interlagos.
Also there are extra menus for Muscle Cars for high-level collectors with scapes camera upgrades, allowing better vertical positioning for in-game photography, and Power Pack Challenges, offering time-limited rewards based on race completion.
These additions continue Gran Turismo 7’s push to blend simulation racing with progression-driven gameplay.

Why This Update Matters
Update 1.69 sets the tone for Gran Turismo 7 in 2026. It balances nostalgia (with cars like the Twingo), exclusivity (with the ultra-rare Porsche), and innovation (with the electric Yangwang U9).
At the same time, the launch of the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 ensures the competitive scene remains just as active as the single-player experience.
For longtime players and newcomers alike, this update is more than just new content, it’s a signal that Gran Turismo 7 is still accelerating into the future.
