Here are the PS Plus monthly games for October 2025
This month mix a blockbuster horror sequel with a chaotic sandbox and an inventive indie puzzle.
Sony is keeping the variety rolling with its PlayStation Plus lineup for October 2025. During the recent State of Play event, the company announced the free games coming to subscribers next month, and it’s a strong mix that builds on the momentum of September.
Last month, PlayStation Plus members got Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder. It was a lineup praised for its balance and creativity, even if it lacked a single standout blockbuster.
October shifts gears by putting a major survival horror sequel front and centre, while still leaving room for comedy and experimental design.
From October 7, all PlayStation Plus members can claim Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and Cocoon. Each offers something different, showing how Sony continues to use variety as its strongest weapon in the subscription battle with Xbox Game Pass. Here’s a closer look at the three titles.

Alan Wake 2

The clear headliner this month is Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment’s follow-up to the cult classic. The game expands the story of troubled novelist Alan Wake, trapped in a nightmarish alternate dimension, while also introducing FBI agent Saga Anderson as a new protagonist.
Together, their narratives intertwine across environments filled with dread, tension, and supernatural mystery. Gameplay blends exploration, survival mechanics, and psychological horror.
Players must manage limited resources while navigating eerie settings and confronting shadowy enemies. The sequel pushes Remedy’s reputation for cinematic storytelling even further, combining live-action sequences with in-game visuals to create a seamless and unsettling experience.
Goat Simulator 3

On the other end of the spectrum is Goat Simulator 3, a game that thrives on chaos and silliness. You play as a goat with the ability to cause absurd levels of destruction.
The joy comes from its physics-based antics, whether you are headbutting cars into oblivion, dragging objects around with your sticky tongue, or teaming up with friends in multiplayer to turn the world into your playground.
The game does not follow a traditional narrative or structure. Instead, it is about experimentation and laughter, rewarding curiosity with ridiculous outcomes. For players who enjoy games as social toys or stress relievers, Goat Simulator 3 provides endless comedic scenarios.
Cocoon

Rounding out October’s lineup is Cocoon, a puzzle adventure designed by Jeppe Carlsen, best known for his work on Limbo and Inside. This game trades jump scares and chaos for quiet, layered complexity.
Players guide a small insect-like creature through a world built on orbs that contain entire universes. Carrying one orb into another creates puzzles that twist the player’s understanding of perspective and space.
What makes Cocoon stand out is its seamless design. There is no dialogue or tutorials. Instead, the game teaches through experimentation, rewarding players for noticing patterns and making connections. Its art style is minimal but striking, giving each orb-world its own visual identity.
Beyond the Essentials
For those on the Extra and Premium PS Plus tiers, October also brings The Last of Us Part II Remastered to the game catalogue, alongside classics like Tekken 3, Soulcalibur 3, and Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
At the same time, games such as Battlefield 1, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and The Last Clockwinder will be leaving later in the month. Sony’s constant rotation of titles keeps the catalogue dynamic, though it also means players need to jump on games before they disappear.
