If you use Grok on X, there’s a good chance your posts, chats, and interactions could be helping train xAI’s AI models. The good news is that you can turn this off in just a few taps.
xAI lets users opt out of having their public posts and Grok conversations used for AI training through X’s privacy settings. You’ll still be able to use Grok normally, but your interactions won’t be used to train or fine-tune future versions of the model.
How to turn off Grok AI training
Step 1: Open the X app or visit X on the web
Step 2: Go to Settings & Privacy
Step 3: Tap Privacy & Safety
Step 4: Scroll to Data sharing and personalization
Step 5: Select Grok & Third-party Collaborators
Step 6: Turn off the option that says “Allow your public data as well as your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok and xAI to be used for training and fine-tuning.”
