This Privacy Policy explains how Techloy Limited ("Techloy", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use techloy.com (the "Website"), our newsletters, memberships, community, events and advertising services (together, the "Service").

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
This policy does not cover third-party websites linked from our articles, including sponsored "Partner Content" links. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service. Most readers can browse techloy.com without giving us any personal details.

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions.

We may also share data:
- With your permission, for example when you ask us to introduce you to a partner.
- For legal reasons, to investigate or prevent fraud, illegal activity, threats to anyone's safety or breaches of our Terms, or where required by law, court order or a regulator. In rare cases, if we reasonably believe someone is at imminent risk of serious physical harm or self-harm, we may share the minimum information needed with emergency services, solely to protect their safety.
- In a business transfer, if Techloy is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. You will be told of any change in who controls your data.
Advertisers and partners do not receive our subscriber lists. If you click a sponsored link, the advertiser's own privacy policy applies.
Community posts. Profiles, posts, comments and other content you share on community.techloy.com can be seen by other members and, depending on the space and your settings, may be visible publicly. Other members may use what you share, and we cannot control how they do. Please think before posting personal information, and send private requests to us by email instead.
5. Retention, security and international transfers
How long we keep data. We keep personal data only as long as we need it:

Security. We use HTTPS encryption, access controls and reputable processors to protect your data. No system is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
International transfers. Techloy is based in the UK, and some providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Your rights and choices
You can exercise these rights free of charge by emailing [email protected]. We will reply within one month and may ask you to verify your identity.
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Members can update most details in their account settings.
- Delete your data, unless we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
- Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling for ads.
- Portability: receive data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from emails or changing cookie settings.
UK and EU residents. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
Nigeria and other African countries. Readers in Nigeria have equivalent rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. We honour similar rights under the data protection laws of Kenya, South Africa, Ghana and other countries where our readers live.
US residents. Depending on the state you live in (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising. 7. Children, changes and contact
Children. The Service is not directed at anyone under 16, and you must be at least 16 to create an account or subscribe. If we learn we have collected data from someone under 16, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy as our Service or the law changes. We will update the "last modified" date below and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email or a notice on the Website.
