Indian edtech firm Toprankers raises $4 million in a new round

Toprankers, an India-based edtech firm offering online test preparation services has raised $4 million in its new funding round led by Sixth Sense Ventures.

• The fund will be used to introduce new categories in its online test preparation provisions including study abroad programmes, tutoring courses, career counselling programmes, and finance and commerce test preps.
• The firm plans to use the fund to also set up 25 offline centres with one in Kota, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh among others.
• Founded in 2016, Toprankers offers test preparation courses on law, judiciary services, state exams, management, and common entrance exams.  
• It will hire 160 teaching and non-teaching staff in the next 12 months, the firm claims.
