The AI Future is Now!

AI is here to stay!

This week, we witnessed numerous announcements and releases around AI that left me wondering what else was there to unravel. Honestly, I would guess that over 70% of users (don't quote this figure please) are yet to scratch the surface with the previously released updates and features.

OpenAI kicked things off with a strategic (some might say attention-grabbing) move in an attempt to steal the show from Google. Its GPT-4o, an enhanced version of their GPT-4 model that it claims has faster and better text, audio, and vision capabilities, was announced a day before Google's big event.

The new feature was astonishingly capable. I mean, it is the closest thing I've seen to a real-life Jarvis - from Marvel's Iron Man movie, but let's be honest, OpenAI could have picked a less eventful week for the unveiling.

Nonetheless, Google I/O 2024 held its own with the release of multiple AI updates that left me in awe. One particular update that stood out was "Project Astra"β€”AI assistants, or "agents," as Google calls them.

During the week, Apple also impressed with its AI-powered "Accessibility" feature, designed to empower people with disabilities. This focus on inclusivity at Apple is commendable.

These advancements raise exciting possibilities, but also ethical questions about the future of AI. What do you think about these new developments surrounding AI? Are you excited or worried about its place in our future?

Hasta mΓ‘s tarde!
