OnePlus is getting ready to unveil its next compact flagship, the OnePlus 15T, with the official launch just hours away. The company has confirmed that the device will debut in China on March 24 at 4:30 PM IST. While next to nothing of the major features has been confirmed, we have some ideas on what the phone is going to offer, based on speculations, rumours and leaks.
As with almost every flagship now, the OnePlus 15T is widely expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with configurations going up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage. It’s also tipped to feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate, which suggests OnePlus is leaning heavily into performance and gaming this time around.
Alongside that, the phone is rumoured to pack a massive 7,500mAh battery, a move that could easily become one of its standout features if true. Combined with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, it looks like the device is geared towards long-session usage rather than making you constantly reach for a charger.
Add in a possible periscope telephoto camera and a dual 50MP setup, and it looks like OnePlus is trying to balance power with photography.
Right now, early estimates suggest the phone could start somewhere around ₹40,000 ($425) to ₹42,000 ($450) for the base model, although other reports point to a higher range closer to ₹60,000 ($640) or more, depending on the configuration. But given recent trends and OnePlus's history, w the price could be around that ₹45,000 ($478) for the base model. Either way, customers will need to wait for the official announcement to know where it really lands.
How and where to watch the launch
For those who want to catch the unveiling live, OnePlus is expected to stream the event via its official channels in China, primarily on its Weibo page. While it’s still unclear whether this will be a full-scale launch event or a quieter announcement, the livestream, if available, should kick off at the scheduled time.
As always with pre-launch coverage, it’s best to take everything with a pinch of salt until OnePlus makes things official on stage. But if even half of these rumours hold up, the OnePlus 15T could end up being one of the more interesting compact flagships to watch this year.
