Samsung launched another budget phone in India just as the countryโs festive shopping season gathers pace. The latest addition is the Samsung Galaxy F70 5G, which rolled out on 18 October with a starting price of โน19,999 ($210).
The phone features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery and a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It goes on sale on Flipkart on 20 October.
Samsung is betting that a good display, a large battery and a well-timed launch can help it win over buyers in the sub-โน20,000 segment before rivals step up their Diwali promotions. The question is whether those features will be enough in a market with thin margins and fierce competition.

What the Galaxy F70 5G offers
The Galaxy F70 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, making videos and social media content look vibrant while keeping scrolling smooth. However, some rivals offer faster 120Hz displays. Its Infinity-U design refers to the notch housing the front camera.
The phone runs on Samsungโs Exynos 1330 processor, which should handle everyday tasks such as browsing, messaging, and streaming. Its 5,000mAh battery should also last through a typical day, while 25W wired charging helps top it up.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. OIS helps reduce blur from hand movement, particularly when taking photos in low light. Thereโs also a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Available in bold black and vivid violet, the phone measures around 7.5mm thick and weighs 192g.
Samsung offers 4GB RAM and 128GB storage for โน19,999, or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage for โน22,999 ($242). The extra RAM could help when switching between apps. An eligible bank card offer reduces the base modelโs price to โน17,999, although other buyers will pay the full price.

How does it compare with rivals?
At โน19,999, the Galaxy F70 5G faces competition from Xiaomi, Tecno, and Samsungโs own Galaxy M and A series. Indiaโs sub-โน20,000 smartphone segment is one of the marketโs most competitive price brackets, with brands fighting for buyers who want capable hardware without spending too much.
One of the F70 5Gโs biggest selling points is OIS on its main camera, which helps reduce the effect of hand movements when taking photos or recording videos, particularly in low light. If it works as it should, it could give Samsung an edge over phones that rely solely on digital stabilisation.
