The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has dominated the global box office for more than a decade, but its latest milestone may be one of its most remarkable yet.

Following a spectacular $927 million worldwide opening weekend, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially become the second-biggest global opening weekend in box office history, trailing only Avengers: Endgame, which still holds the record with $1.224 billion.

The achievement not only gives Marvel another record-breaking debut but also further strengthens its position as the most commercially successful film franchise ever created.

More significantly, Marvel Studios now occupies five of the ten biggest global opening weekends of all time, meaning half of the top 10 belongs to the MCU. Even more impressively, Marvel now owns the four biggest worldwide opening weekends in cinema history.
