Have you ever sent money, seen “Transfer Failed,” and immediately started panicking?

It can be scary when you send money and the transaction does not go through, especially if you need the money to reach someone quickly. But a failed bank transfer does not always mean your money is gone.

When you make a bank transfer, several systems work together to process it. Your bank first checks the details of the transaction, including the account number and the recipient’s bank. The payment is then sent through the relevant payment network before it reaches the recipient’s bank.

If everything works properly, the recipient gets the money and the transaction is completed.

But sometimes, something goes wrong along the way. A transfer can fail if you enter the wrong account details or if the recipient’s bank is having a technical problem. A poor network connection or problem with the payment network can also affect the transaction.

Your own bank may also stop a transfer if it detects something unusual. This can happen when a transaction is flagged for security reasons or when there is a temporary problem with the bank’s system.
