Seven years is a long time to leave a product line dormant, especially in a smartphone market as fast-moving as India's. vivo's Series S line last had a proper outing with the vivo S1 back in 2019, a phone that launched at a modest ₹17,990 ($189).
That changed on 6 August 2026, when vivo brought the series back with the vivo S2, a considerably more ambitious device aimed squarely at young buyers who want a phone that looks and feels premium without the price tag of an actual flagship.
What Is New With The vivo S2?
The vivo S2 sits in the premium mid-range segment and comes in two storage variants: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at ₹39,999 ($420) and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at ₹49,999 ($524). Buyers can choose from Silk White, Sapphire Blue, and Regal Bronze finishes.
One of the device's biggest upgrades is its 6.83-inch 3D Curved AMOLED display, which supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 1.5K resolution, and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, making it easier to view content even in bright outdoor conditions.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, built on a 4nm manufacturing process. According to vivo, the chipset delivers an AnTuTu benchmark score of around 970,000, positioning it among the stronger performers in its category.
Photography is another major focus. The phone features a 50MP Sony main camera, a 32MP front camera, and supports 4K video recording on both the front and rear cameras, allowing creators to record high-quality videos regardless of which camera they use.
