If you’ve been waiting for the Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox Series X|S, your patience is about to pay off. After months of rumors, the game is officially listed on the Australian Xbox Store, which basically confirms that Xbox players will soon get to experience one of gaming’s most iconic horror stories.

The remake has already made waves on other platforms. Critics have given it an 86/100 on Metacritic, and players love it even more, rating it 9.1/10. On Steam, it’s sitting at a 95% positive rating from over 47,000 reviews. Sales have been strong too, with Konami reporting 2.5 million units sold worldwide across PlayStation 5 and PC. Clearly, this isn’t just nostalgia, it’s a remake that’s connecting with players old and new.

From what we know so far, there'll be a Standard and a Deluxe Edition, both with roughly 50% launch discounts (in Australia, that’s $50 AUD for Standard and $57 AUD for Deluxe). U.S. pricing is expected to hit around $70–80 USD before discounts.

Players can also choose bundles that include Silent Hill f, which gives the launch a bit more weight for fans of the series. The release supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one digital purchase works on both Xbox consoles and PC.

While an official date hasn’t been confirmed yet, the Xbox Store briefly teased November 21 before taking it down, so it seems we’re not far off from a launch. The remake’s success is big enough that Bloober Team is now confirmed to be working on a remake of the original 1999 Silent Hill, showing that Konami is serious about reviving this classic horror franchise.

The takeaway

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the series, the Silent Hill 2 Remake is shaping up to be a major release for Xbox. With strong reviews, cross-platform play, and bundles that make it easier to dive into the world of Silent Hill, there’s never been a better time to step back into that eerie, fog-covered town.
