Forza Horizon 6 could be heading to PS5 early next year, despite Microsoft and Playground Games previously saying the racing game would arrive on Sony's console before the end of 2026.

According to a report from reliable leaker billbil-kun on French deal site Dealabs, the PS5 version is now expected to launch on January 26, 2027. The report also claims that a physical PS5 edition will launch alongside the digital version.

Neither Microsoft nor Playground Games has confirmed the reported date, however. In fact, Playground's most recent official messaging still says Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PS5 later in 2026.

Xbox Game Pass October 2026 Lineup: Games and Release Dates
The October lineup has grown with new additions including Battlefield 6, Forever Ago and Bluey’s Happy Snaps, with more games still to come.

When is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?

If billbil-kun's report is accurate, PS5 players will get Forza Horizon 6 on January 26, 2027.

That would put the PlayStation release several months after the Xbox Series X|S and PC versions, which launched on May 19, 2026. Playground Games originally announced the PS5 version as a later release, with players able to wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store.

The delay would also explain why Microsoft has yet to provide a firm PS5 release date. In August, The Verge's Tom Warren reported that Forza Horizon 6 would not make it to PS5 in 2026.

Playground later pushed back against those reports, reiterating that the game would still release on PS5 before the end of the year. The latest leak now suggests that the PS5 version has slipped into 2027.

Will Forza Horizon 6 have a physical PS5 edition?

Apparently, yes.

Billbil-kun claims that physical and digital PS5 editions will launch at the same time.

That could be particularly significant for PlayStation players who still prefer buying games on disc. Sony has been preparing to scale back physical media production, with plans to end physical disc production for new PlayStation games by 2028, though that has sparked considerable backlash from some players and retailers.

A physical release for Forza Horizon 6 would therefore give PS5 players another major first-party Xbox game that can still be purchased on disc.

The report also claims that the PS5 version will follow the same pricing as the Xbox version, putting it at around $69.99 in the United States. The European pricing reported by billbil-kun is €69.99/£59.99. Microsoft has yet to officially confirm the PlayStation price.

Why is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?

Microsoft's decision to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation makes more sense when you look at what happened with Forza Horizon 5.

The previous game reportedly sold more than 5 million copies on PS5, generating more than $300 million in revenue. That gives Microsoft a strong financial incentive to bring the sequel to the same audience.
