Gemini Live's real-time screen sharing is now available to all Android users
Now, every Android user can share screens and camera with Google’s AI.
It appears Google no longer wants to maintain the segregation as the tech giant just opened the doors to Gemini Live’s real-time screen and camera sharing to all Android users.
Previously, these Gemini Live features were locked away for the elite club of Pixel 9 users, Galaxy S25 owners, and customers paying for Gemini Advanced. But now, it's available for all Android users. If you've got an Android phone, you can just open Gemini, and you’ll notice a new option: “Share screen with Live,” sitting comfortably above the “Ask Gemini” window.
Gemini Live is Google’s conversational AI assistant, but unlike Gemini's previous iterations this one can see. Thanks to its real-time screen sharing and camera access features, you’re not just telling it what's wrong with your TV, for example, but you’re also showing it. Then, Gemini would take a look via your camera and give its input (like in the video below).
You could also ask Gemini for advice, feedback, suggestions, or support, and it responds in real-time based on whatever it sees. And according to Google, you can even switch between screen sharing and camera mode easily at any point.
The interesting thing about this is that it was built with actual utility in mind on Project Astra, the same AI foundation that’s powering Gemini's evolution, enabling real-time assistance and visual understanding. The integration is what allows Gemini Live to go beyond simple fact-providing and offer practical advice, feedback, and suggestions based on visual context.
Now, when it comes to sharing data with AI...hmm...yeah, I know the skepticism. But Google assures that whatever you share, whether it’s your voice, your screen, or anything at all, won't be used to train the AI. You even get the option to auto-delete that data from your Gemini Apps Activity.
So, whether it’s choosing outfits, solving everyday tech headaches, or bouncing around ideas mid-scroll, Gemini Live is no longer just for the privileged few; it’s now for everyone on Android with hopes it comes to iOS as well.
