Gemini now supports uploading multiple pictures
Analyze or compare multiple images at once with Gemini's new multi-upload feature.
For a while now, Gemini users have had to work around a frustrating limitation: only one image per prompt. Not ideal if you're trying to compare visuals, create composite scenes, or give richer context. But that might be changing slowly.
Some Gemini Advanced users are now spotting the ability to upload multiple images at once on the web app, a feature that’s long been standard in ChatGPT. First spotted by Reddit users and reported by Android Authority, the new functionality is starting to roll out quietly, and it could reshape how users interact with Gemini’s image-generation tools.
In one thread, several Gemini users, mostly Advanced subscribers, claim they can now upload multiple images in a single prompt. One even shared a screenshot of Gemini combining three characters from separate images into a single scene using the 2.0 Flash model.

It’s a notable development, especially for those who rely on visual context to shape AI outputs. But early feedback points to a key limitation: image quality. Users report that results are still hit-or-miss, and the feature isn’t available to everyone yet, even some paying subscribers. That suggests a staged rollout rather than a full release.
This move puts Gemini a little closer to parity with ChatGPT, which has long supported multi-image prompts on the web. While OpenAI has built up a reputation for faster feature expansion, Google’s now signalling that it’s serious about catching up in the creative AI space.
There’s more in the pipeline, too. Google is also rolling out tools that let users modify both AI-generated and user-uploaded images, like changing backgrounds or adding new objects, across mobile and web. These features are available in over 45 languages and markets, though again, the rollout is gradual.
Whether multi-image support will come to free Gemini accounts is still unclear. But for now, Advanced users should keep an eye out, it might quietly appear in your workspace soon.
